A Partnership Driven Compliance Provider | Vigilant
Vigilant Insights
Introduction
With Vigilant’s recent Award Win as Best Regulatory Advisory & Compliance Firm by Institutional Asset Manager (“IAM”), we dove deeper into why we believe we won the award and what separates us from our competitors.
At a time when the compliance industry is facing rapid change, Vigilant continues to dedicate the time and effort required to provide a hands on and high touch service to our clients.
Vigilant’s Chief Operating Officer, Chuck Martin, spoke with IAM about the award, trends we have seen, and Vigilant’s future goals.
Chuck Martin’s Insight
Chuck discussed that Vigilant’s model provides a consistent, high touch service for clients in the Institutional Asset Manager space. As we continue to grow in this space, there is a strong brand recognition that Vigilant brings to the table. The ability to make our services fit well with the individual business structures of different clients is very important in this industry. Chuck notes that Vigilant now collectively brings 500+ years of experience at our Director level; we continue to add more industry veterans to our team. Our allocation of this industry insight allows Vigilant to provide both experienced leadership and focused support with our client engagements.
Chuck mentions that the compliance industry has seen a second year of record enforcement. With over 50+ rules in the prospective and effective stage, the industry is increasing its reliance on third-party service providers for compliance support. In response, Vigilant plans to expand its business with greater efficiency by leveraging technology to provide customized solutions to clients. With continuous monitoring of new rules and regulations, we are prepared to take on new clients that find this aggressive regulatory storm too difficult to navigate.
Looking forward, Chuck expects 2024 to see increased scrutiny of Private Fund Advisers, use of electronic communication recordkeeping, compliance with the Marketing Rule, cybersecurity/AI use, and proper supervision and disclosure of conflicts of interest. The ability to anticipate investigative actions and prepare proactively will be essential for compliance success.
Vigilant’s Conclusion
We strive to continue offering a best-in-class compliance solution for clients during a difficult economic and regulatory climate. We appreciate the recognition of this hard work through this award and will continue our efforts to help Firms limit the business risks that come from costly compliance failures.
